Additionally, globally recognized academics from leading domestic and international institutions contribute to the governance and development of major research institutes through participation in the relevant academic committees as well as research collaboration.
University Advisory Committee
The University Advisory Committee comprises distinguished societal leaders, scholars, industry leaders, experts from key professional sectors, Senate members, University Council delegates and accomplished alumni. The diverse composition ensures multidimensional strategic foresight, enabling the University to address challenges, maintain academic excellence, drive innovation and sustainable development within the dynamic changing landscape of higher education.
Faculty Advisory Board
The Faculty Advisory Board is typically composed of prominent leaders from academia, industry, and professional sectors. The Board holds regular meetings to seek expert insights and recommendations to advance curriculum design, program innovation, and research excellence, as well as provide advices and guidance to the Faculty’s strategic development priorities.
External Examiner
Faculties/institutes appoint external examiners to evaluate assessment frameworks, examination materials, and student learning outcomes, ensuring alignment of teaching, learning, and evaluation processes with academic and professional benchmarks. Additionally, external examiners will also participate in postgraduate thesis or dissertation supervision and act as panel members in oral defense evaluations to uphold the quality of postgraduate education.
External Reviewer
To address the extended seven-year cycle for mandatory program reviews under Macao’s Higher Education Law as well as proactively review the quality of our academic programs, the University has implemented the External Reviewer (ER) system with interim reviews being done in the middle of the mandatory cycle. Through structured evaluations, external reviewers provide feedback, recommendations, and insights into practices of other universities, enabling timely curricular enhancements and quality assurance adjustments.
